   First introduced to Glass in 2009, James Blake was the Flat-Glass instructor for 8 years at the Non-Profit studio GlassRoots, located in Newark, NJ. He uses an interdisciplinary approach with ceramics, drawing/painting, glass, and metals to create his own work, mostly focused on the interaction of form and function. He has worked and studied with craft organizations including Pilchuck Glass School, Pittsburgh Glass Center, Penland School of Crafts,  Urban Glass (Brooklyn, NY) and Currently has classes listed at Peters Valley School of Craft.

      Two large-scale works may be seen on Springfield Avenue on the Greater Newark Conservancy building and in the lobby in the Hotel Indigo on Bank Street (Newark). Also featured on Codaworx.com
